Tumblr and 3-Day Quote Challenge

Hey all! Isn’t this strange? I don’t normally post non-food related updates. Nonetheless, it is time to branch out. I first wanted to let you all know that I just got a Tumblr, where you can find more yummy pictures of the food I make 🙂 Take pity on me, I am still trying to figure out how to use it, so if I seem inept, it’s because I am. Find it here at: http://yumpenguinsnacks.tumblr.com/

Next, Ramyunbowl, one of my many delightful readers, nominated me for the 3-Day Quote Challenge! I’ve never heard of such a thing before, but I thought it looked fun so I am going to give it my best. Thanks for nominating me ramyunbowl, I hope my selected quotes are at least marginally interesting. I’ll warn you, though, that I don’t like to get too deep. It makes me feel a lot of feels to get all emotional and introspective, so I try not to do it unless I am questioning the fabric of my being, which only happens every weekend or so. (Haha, mostly just kidding)

Following that warning, I’ll start off my three quotes with a rather lighthearted one.

“Who am I? I don’t know. I guess I have a lot of things to ponder.”

-Derek Zoolander

Derek-Zoolander-Asks-Who-Am-I-Zoolander

This was actually my senior yearbook quote, and at the time (and still now) I thought it was both hilarious and poignant. Derek is so lovably dumb, and my friends and I loved the movie in high school, so it was a nostalgic pick. However, it’s also sort of deep. Who am I? Who can answer that question with a decisive answer? Sure, we can say “I’m so and so” or “I’m this and that”, but what really makes you you? You know what I mean? As humans, we are constantly evolving mentally, and so what makes you you one day could be completely different the next. So, how do you define that? How do you put into words exactly who you are? I don’t know. I guess I have a lot of things to ponder.

And so, typically, as a senior on the verge of graduation with a college-bound future ahead of me, I clearly thought that I had a lot of thinking to do. To be honest, I still think that this is true.

And that’s it for today 🙂 I’ll be back tomorrow (or at least soon, my life is incredibly busy) with another quote, perhaps one a little less (OR A LITTLE MORE MUAHAHAHA) silly.
